- Data of interest:  this vessel had a long life, from 1975 to 2005; was famous due to "Aventura 92" an adventure program for students. Trasmediterránea operated this vessel between Cadiz and Canary Islands from 1975 to 1993 (also few years later).

GUANAHANI (1985)

Aventura 92 "Rumbo a Zipango"

Due to the 5th centenary  America discovery , "J.J. Sister" made 6 transatlantic routes, within the adventure and exploration program, "Aventura 92"; founded and directed by Miguel de la Quadra Salcedo (1932- â™° 2016).

​

During the program, SISTER was occasionally called "GUANAHANI", the indigenous name of San Salvador

.

In 1985 she made her first route as a "Floating Classroom of Ibero-American Studies.

​

The first transatlantic route began on September 26, 1985, departing from La Rábida (Huelva, Spain); making stops in Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Salvador, La Havana, Puerto Plata and Santo Domingo; returning to Cadiz days after.

J. J.  SISTER (1985)

On November 4, 1985, the Canary Islands-Genova route was inaugurated; later was canceled in May 1986.

  - Genova (Genoa)

Second route for "Aventura 92", starting in September 17th, 1988 to October 14th. Places included:

" Agencia Shembri S.A." acquired the vessel in 1993 and was  flag bearer in Madeira, Portugal.

​

In July 1993, JJ SISTER made three voyages, during "Xacobeo 93" departing from Valencia to the following stops:

- Villagarcía de Arosa

BALANGA SISTER (1994)

December 30th, 1993,  "J.J. SISTER" is chartered by Corona Line , during two years.  

​

The ship was renamed as "BALANGA SISTER" and flag bearer in panama, operating  between Karlskrona and Gdnya (Baltic Sea route) from February 3rd, 1994.

 SISTER (1995)

Sister was operated by Topas Maritime Lines, from September 25th , 1995 to October 2nd, 1995. Her main route was Ancona-Brindisi.

On February 23rd, 1996, was renamed as "J.J. SISTER" and flag bearer in Almería, Spain.

MANUEL SOTO (1980s)

Manuel Soto did two special voyages along the western mediterranean sea. The first one was in Christmas 1981, and the second in October 1983.

​

December 15th, 1983; the route Palma-Mahón was reopened. This route was canceled in 1977. 

​

Few years ago, in November 1985, the  Genoa weekly route was covered by the two "Super X", Manuel Soto and J.J. Sister, to May 1986. This route was include the following ports: 

​

 Genoa - Palma de Mallorca - Málaga - Cádiz - Canary Islands

​
